Journalist and founder of Democracy Now!,
Amy Goodman, along with 2 producer’s Sharif Kouddous and Nicole Salazar were arrested on Monday September 1st, the first day of the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minnesota. The arrests occurred while reporting on the protests and events happening around the Xcel Energy Center, the home of the convention. More than 280 people were arrested, among them were several journalists covering the protests in the streets which began as a peaceful march, calling for an end to the War in Iraq. Over 10,000 people participated.
Amy Goodman is prominently featured in the film “ReGeneration” and is an outspoken critic of the mainstream media.
